Lived experience reflections relating to Housing and Homelessness Services

"It can be very hard to access private rentals when you have a mental illness, especially if you try and be open and honest about your condition. In my work, I have seen first-hand people peers with a severe or complex mental illness who stood almost no chance of being successful in a private rental. Some people were more understanding: those who were more educated or who either had a partner or family member who had a mental illness or where they had a physical illness."
